Default 67 fastback

Hi every one,
I just became an owner of a 67 fastback. I am preparing it to be painted. I cannot get the hood to fit nicely. Side to side is no problem but it sticks up at the back approx 3/8 above the cowl. the hinges are down as far as they will go. Any suggestions?

Mine is like that a little (like the thickness of the hood), and I had it aligned professionally be the body shop that painted it. I've found that I can push the back corners down a little bit after the hood is closed and it will pretty much close the gap up.

Do not try this until you research it better, but the solution is to push up at the front of the hood while it is open. This resets the hinges and will lower the back corners when closed. That should be enough to get you started on an internet search. I haven't done or tried this as it was not a problem for me, just recall reading about it.

Highhiller is right. Loosen the hinges where they attach to the aprons. Lift up on the hood while retightening the bolts. This will lower the back of the hood.

Well in most cases adjusting does not help. Hinges are worn out over the years and only new good quality hinge will eliminate this problem. But does anybody know are these new repro hinges any better than old used hinges?
