Default Manifold, Carb help??

So as some of you know, I recently purchased a 64 1/2 D code mustang. It orig. was a 4 bbl car but the previous owner put a brand new 2 bbl on it for her son (she wanted him to go easy). Anyways, I am looking for recommendations on what manifold and carb to put on as I want to go back to a 4 bbl. I want to keep it fairly mild. As of now there are no mods on the car. What are your suggestions for something streetable, not over the top and a good driver??

thanks

Back to stock? Or modified? If you go back to stock, then you'll need the cast iron manifold and an Autolite 4100 carb. If you go modified then look into Weiand or Edelbrock manifold and maybe a Holley or Edelbrock carb just dont go to big.

I think the stock size on most of the 289's was 480cfm.

The car is fairly stock, but I dont mind going mildly away from fully stock. I was thinking of an aftermarket manifold and carb. I just wasnt sure of what size. For example I was thinking of a 500 cfm carb. Would that be too small, or ok? And for the manifold, maybe a edelbrock performer.

500 wouldnt be too small, and the performer is an excellent intake.

I was gonna say just go with Edelbrock Performer and Performer 500CFM carb. A lot of people do that for a mild intake/carb upgrade on a stock engine.
