Default shock towers on 69

hi all, i am new to the forum. I have a 69 grande with a 302 that need's the shock tower's repaired or replaced, can any one offer some advice ? Is there any sites that have pic's, and detailed info. ? Also what is a good resto. book to get ? Thank's 4 your help

One trick is to weld them more than what the factory did...for strength.

thank's 69mach1377, so are u suggesting instead of removing the old ones, beef them up ?

Im thinking he means you should weld the new towers better.

Thank you tylerdu, I am getting ready to tear her down i have never restored a car before, but this one is in pretty good shape. It has been sitting in a garage for the past 20 yr's. Have you ever rplaced shocktower's yourself ?

Replace if they are damaged, otherwise weld more than the factory did, beef up with more metal if desired, but not required.

I have that series bought it a couple of years ago, Ray and Fred i think our their names. Has a lot of interesting things in there. Lots of good ideals but not as much nuts and bolts as I was hoping for. In the first disc they start dismantling an old Dodge (late 40's iirc) They really get it to the point of it being interesting and then it ends next disc went on to something else. A lot of practical info that is good for everyone especially garage setup and air hoses/compressor info. Overall 2 thumbs up!
