yeah ive had alot of vintage mustang i wanted one that actually would stop when i pushed the brakes and i building a shelby restomod and i thought that it would be pretty cool to have the shelby engraved calipers. ive been saving a while now the brakes are the most important system on the car! and i did see the point on doing a four wheel conversion for 1400bucks so i stepped up a notch in looks and performance and i didnt want to get the car done and not be satisified with the performance!
Those 12" brakes will be awesome on your car. Unless you are running open track events, I think the 13" are a little overboard. I just put a set of '04 Cobra brakes on the '66. 13" brakes limit your wheel choices. One issue you want to double check on is that the front of the caliper clears the wheel hub. On the 13" Cobra units, I had to get the rims centers recessed so they would not hit the face of the rotors. Otherwise you need to run late model wheels, or (gag) spacers [:@].
Keep us posted on the install and how you like the feel of 4 wheel disc without a power booster. That is a real nice setup.

i love manual brakes and steering im pretty big and i dont live in a conjested city so it no problem with the effort i can turn the steering wheel with one finger with the manual set up in the fastback
I convered my 66 with 11 inch, my car originally was a 6 banger, there are two things to look out for.
1. the new brake line for the front brakes had the wrong size fitting for the distubution block.
2. reusing the master cylinder push rod left me with spongy brakes, i sugest buying the ajustable rod.
