Default Yet ANOTHER tire sizing question...

I'm gonna be getting tires for my 1967 Mustang. I want to get 15x7's, and some pretty nice tires to fit. I want some beefy, but not rediculous sized tires in the back, and smaller ones in the front. I'm keeping the stock bolt pattern, so what I'm asking is what size tires can I get that will fit 15x7's. Please help, I really have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to tires.

Okay, so I found these wheels and tires as a combination from the list in the FAQ. Do these look right for a stock application on a 1967 with drums all around?

Rim is wrong backspacing.

Search engine is a valuable feature.

How can you tell what backspacing you need? And what is backspacing? On the chart that I looked at, it said that I needed 4.25in backspacing...
BACKSPACING
Definition: The distance from the back edge of a wheel rim to the back of the center section.

It is VERY important, often overlooked, and WILL determine the way your wheels fit in the well and how wide of a tire you can have. Most mustangs require 4.5in backspacing for wider tires with a 7" or 8" wide rim. Here's an example - the prior owner of my 67 purchased Torque Thrust IIs with only 4" of backspacing in the front. 67s can usually take a decent width tire (usually up to 235 w/ 4.5in backspacing). However, since I have only 4" backspacing, the max width I can run in front without the tires rubbing to wheel well fender lip is 205. Any of this making sense?

Read that this morning and though it was an 8 inch wheel.

Right. Okay I understand the backspacing. Basically if you don't have enough backspacing, the tire isn't going to go on far enough and the tire will be rubbing against the inside of the outer fender?

Also, what is getting your fenders rolled?

And now that you have looked at it again, do those specs for wheels/tires all around sound good?

Will a 16x8 rim fit on a stock 1967 with drums all around?
