RE: Stuttering while idle
did a gnome secretly switch out your stock cam for a wild cam???
im just kidding....but if you have a wild cam thats somewhat normal......it could be just not enough of one the three components getting to the cylinders.... GAS-SPARK-COMPRESSION

Sounds like a vacuum leak...that's my first thought. Check your vacuum hoses, and the vacuum around the intake by spraying some carb cleaner around the base of the intake manifold. If it smooths out, you need to replace the intake manifold gasket. Second though would be ignition. Check the timing and if has points, check the gap. Third thought would be gas. Check the fuel filter and if the fuel pump is working properly.

Open your hood with it sitting idle... Do you hear air? More than usual...
Look around your carb. On mine there is a little plastic plug type thing that falls off from time to time. Look all around your carb for something that looks like a plug/cap
If its not that then yeah check for vacum leaks.

I was out there and could only find one line that looks like a vacuum line which goes to the carb.Another line(hard line at that) which also comes from the carb is broken halfway down and goes into nothing. Could be an old fuel line? Its hooked under the "lean/rich" ****. And I saw nothing that looked like a cap. [:@]
