painting the head gasket

Default painting the head gasket

im about to put the heads on my engine and in the book i have it says paint the head gasket with an alluminum paint before putting the heads on. is this what anyone has done befor or do you just place the bare gasket between the surfaces and tork everything down.

If it is a Felpro gasket then don't paint it. If it is the old metal shim type then paint it with Copper Coat.

it is a new gasket from victor rienz but i dont know what it is made out of. it came with a brand new rebuild kit

would it hurt to paint a head gasket , can you do it to all kinds of head gaskets. or will it be bad for ceatain ones
