Default How do I remove hubs from front drum?

I'm replacing the drums on the front of my 1970 (i know I should swap to disk) not sure how to get hub off drum - soaked with WD 40 and beat the center area with a rubber mallet and no luck - did a search and seen suggestion of usng hammer and beating out. Not sure if you strike lugs or center area. Any suggestions would be appreaciated - thanks

Default RE: How do I remove hubs from front drum?

I had the same question and was told to try putting some old lug nuts on the lugs and wack'em with a hammer. I gave them a good solid pop with my sledge one by one. Took about 3 or 4 circles around and the hub fell right out. Got my new drums on and am anxiously awaiting rearending the vehicle in front of me.
