Default Curious about engine options

I was just wondering about the 427. I've got a cousin who ordered a brand new 67 mustang. He still has the car and claims that he ordered it with a 427. I've seen the car, but have not seen the engine because it's buried by boxes and things in a garage. From what I've read, I can't find anywhere that 67's came with a 427. It has 390 emblems on it right now, but he says he put them on it when he bought it to fool others when he raced. Just curious if this every really was an option in 67.

the 427 is rare from what I've read. if what I was reading is right, the 427 was only used for stangs in 68. as for 67, the 289 and the 390 were the norms for 8 bangers.

Well, thats what I though too. The 427 didn't get in mustangs till 68. I don't think he has any reason to lie, but I just don't really believe him. I'm gonna get him to show it to me someday.

I think a 67 could have a 428, if it was a Shelby GT500, but not the 427.
