Default Brake Locking Up

sometimes when i first take my car out the right front disc brake will lock up and sorta skid......it only happens the first or second times braking then it never happens again........is this because its just getting "warmed up"?

when i brake the car dosent veer to the right or anything....

i have SSBC's in front and stock drums in back. its a 1968 coupe.

One brake should never lock up without heavy brake pedal pressure applied and assuming a road surface is not wet , icy etc ... You've got a serious problem that heeds prompt attention. I can't imagine that your right front is getting an excessive amount of hydraulic pressure so I'd have to turn my attention to the caliper and/or rotor assembly. The first thing I'd do is jack the car up and make sure the right front brake isn't dragging. It is very possible that the piston isn't retracting fully and light brake pedal pressure is sufficient to cause lock up. No matter what you find it is imperative that you repair it promptly. There is no feeling like seeing your pride and joy in a mangled mess and under the right circumstances, you're likely to find out soon. A grabbing/locking brake will certainly pull the car during an emergency stopping operation and that may not be the way you need to go to avoid collision, a dog or a kid. I'd fix it right away if it were mine. JMHO, Dean
