Good luck with it. I tried to buy a 66 gauge pod from Slickman last week, and found that it won't work without a new harness. That may be the direction you need to go if you really want that 5 gauger.

What you really need to do is look at the schematic for the 65 and the 66 to see what the differences are. I'm thinking that you cant just change the harness and get by with that. If you go with a harness try to get one from someone parting out a car locally. Harnesses can be pretty pricey.

Get real. Who in his neighborhood would be parting out a 66 or a 65 GT? Not a real good answer. Painless makes under the dash wiring harnesses, and if you have the impetus to go through all that trouble and expense to change the gauge pod, then it can be done, but at some expense and time to hook it all up. There is always the frustration factor involved here too. There is not one project that I have done that went perfectly the first time.

The painless stuff will cost him more than the gauges.

Ok lets think about this. there should be enough wires to make this work if you do it right. The fuel gauge and the temp gauge should be good if you wire them to the right place on the new dash.

You will need the little square voltage regulator and I'm not sure if those come on the 65 or not. The gauges you have to figure out are the oil and the amps. Does all this sound right so far?
