Outside Mirrors for a 67
I bought some "original" rectangular mirrors for our 67 and I need to know if there is a pattern for placement. When I put them where I remember them being they interfer with the wing windows and main windows as well. Any help?
Is it more likely that the "original" mirrors I got weren't the correct mirrors? Also, I know my 66 had round mirrors. Would I be making a huge sin to put round mirrors on the car?
Thanks,
John

originally, our cars only came with a driver's side mirror. so anything you put on the passenger side would not be factory. but if you plan on using the car as a daily driver, i'd get a set of mirrors on both sides. any will do and i doubt people would get upset if you use rounded mirrors. that's probably what i'm going with too. i dont have access to my doors to get some measurements for you at the moment, but i'm sure someone does.
Thanks. The car doesn't have any outside mirrors on it at the moment and I am going to put mirrors on both sides. Besides, I know his Momma doesn't want him driving it until we get the mirrors on it. I think I'll probably go with the round mirrors and I'll let you know how they look.

Just a warning regarding the passenger-side mirror - if you purchase the less-expensive rectangular mirrors for both sides, then the driver's side will be fine but you won't be able to adjust the passenger side enough to get good vision out of it. The less-expensive rectangular mirror that the vendors claim is "good for either side" was only designed by Ford to be put on the driver's side, so when you put in on the passenger side it will not turn enough for you to see directly next to the car. You can turn it enough to at least get a shot of the horrible blind-spot that plaques the classics (especially if it's a fastback), so it's not horrible. Just be forewarned - so, if the circle mirrors turn/adjust more, then they may be the better choice.

my dad told me the mustangs came standard with only a drivers side mirror but you could buy an upgrade from the dealer to get the passenger side mirror put on.
