driveshaft removal

whats the best way to remove the driveshaft? 68' fastback 4 speed thanks.

unbolt the u bolts at the rear gear , the shaft will drop down from there, Than pull it out of the back of the trans.

Make sure you jack up the car from the rear to avoid tranny fluid spilling out once the slip yoke is removed.

drain the gear oil from the tranny or it will fall on you when your under there and it smells really bad trust me its different than any bad smell you have delt with before.

Jack the car up and have a large plug of Seran Wrap etc. ready to plug the opening in the tailshaft.

i taped a plastic bag over the end of mine to remove it.


have you ever tasted it? [:'(] taught me not to pull a transfer case out of a truck while being directly under it.
