need some advice
I just got back from a 400 mile trip in my 65 and left the 03 Mach in the garage. If you think you can do that same thing with complete confidence with the 69, then you have a keeper. I would never sell my 65, no matter what the reasonable price.
tylerdru im suprised you dont have a liscence yet. you seem verry knowledgable on mustangs. this is a suprise to me. do you have a test date yet?
and here is a tip to liking you mustang even more. drive a 4 cylinder anything for about 5 months after you get you liscence then drive the mustang. not only will you have a smile from ear to ear but you will understand y ricers really are garbage

Cars are commodities to be bought and sold. If you get a good offer on a car and you are making money why not sell it especially if you think you can find something you like better. I'm building one now that I plan on keeping forever. Funny thing is I said that about the last one I built. I sold that one so I could get married. I won't make that mistake again but for the right price anything is for sale.
Classic cars are as valuable as real estate. They aren't making any more of them. I'm building my car to fit my needs, and the only reason i would ever sell it was because i was in a financial problem. No matter what deals you turn down, in a year someone will beat that price. It all depends on how long YOU want to keep it. when you want to sell it, there will be plenty of buyers.
When you want to buy, there are only a limited number of sellers.
Thats just my Two Cents.

Here's my two cents. To me the real question is what is the car worth to YOU and YOU alone. For instance, the '66 Fastback is personally my favorite model. Since I'm fortunate to have a '66 Fastback, and it's solid, then in my mind, it's worth far more than fair market price to me. Good thing is since I own it, then I set the sale price. My car also has a great deal of sentimental value as well, driving the price up even further. If you can sell your car for a profit and buy something that pleases you more, by all means, do it. If not, you should probably keep it. As most people here know, you will entertain countless offers the longer you own the classis. However, no one has EVER flagged me down in traffic to make me an offer on my '05 GMC Crew Cab.
Now I won't tell you that my car isn't for sale. I'd say 99% of classic cars have their price but it's going to be far more than someone could by a car equal to mine, thus making most move on to another deal, unless the car is EXACTLY what they're looking for. If that is the case and they buy it at more than market price, they've still gotten a good deal because they got exactly what they wanted. As someone else said, they aren't making any more 65-73 Mustangs so they're going up in value monthly.
If you can sell your car and buy one you're happier with, I say go for it! If you can't, hang on to it. Good luck either way.

dude, i'm 3 grand in collections and need to have reconstructive surgery done to BOTH of my knees which will put me out of service for quite some time. i had someone offer me 5k in current condition. i had a 10k offer when it ran and i REFUSE to sell it EVER! now, like the others have said, what is the car worth to you? mine is the ugly duckling and i still refuse to get rid of it because of how hard they are to find. on the other hand a fox is cheap as dirt cause there's a gazillion of them out there and someone is always selling one. think long and hard about the car before you sell her. the money shouldn't be the first thing you are worring about. and if the woman tells you to get rid of it, get rid of her. my girl thinks my career choice is garbage, a pyramid and not going to do anything for me unless i work 24/7, but she is so supportive of me with my stang. she tells me at least once a week how she hopes i get my feet on the ground again so i can start working on it. she sees how fustrated i am that i can't do anything to it and how i keep delaying my surgery so i can work on it.
just think it over a bit. if i hadn't been so quick to get rid of my 86 when the trans died i would have an awesome looking 5.0 right now. i'm searching my *** off trying to find one (while doing the resto and everything else i got on my plate!)
