when i drive to school...
my guess is that you have a leak in the exhaust near there, or that your firewall insulation needs to be replaced, or that there is a hole in the firewall that causes hot air from the engine bay to leak into the car...try taking a peak under the dash for holes check the insulation
yeah, i had a hole under the dash on the drivers side prolly about 1 inch across. someone had covered it with duct tape, but it had started falling off again. i have reason to believe this is from the clutch petal, but someone told me even the auto ones have this hole.
I have the same thing, its a hole for the clutch. Well mines a auto now but the hole is still there. Ive tried covering it up but everything always fails. Anyone have any clever ideas?
well, if it were me i'd take a short bolt and two big fenderwashers with some rubber behind the fender washers and put the bolt through the hole so that the fender washers would seal the hole up, then just tighten the bolt and that should do it, if you want to make SURE that it stays put then just put some lock-tight on the bolt
In the redneck world, we would just put some duct tape over the hole, then hit it with a big glob of roofing tar.
Seriously though, you can buy a new firewall insulation kit. The holes are almost cut through the insulation, but not quite. A good spray of black sound proofing ove it would seal it. Also, I agree that the heat may be coming from your heater box too. Make sure the heater is turned off. Also, if it is hot out, and you have air conditioning, make sure the cowl vent is closed.

check the heater......i bet its that......
if not, shine light through the engine bay and turn off the garage lights to see if theres any light shining through open holes.
