Default Cowl leak repair

Well, I got the driver and passenger side apart yesterday and it was not as bad as I expected Both the driver and passenger side had some rust holes along the seams near the top hat area and in the corners. The top hat on the passenger side was fine but the driver side top hat had holes around half of it were it meets the cowl. The passenger side was an easy repair with some silicone, POR15 and the top hat for good measure.

The driver side needed a bit more work with the damage around base of the top hat. So, I used POR15, silicone and the new plastic top hat. So, all the holes and seams are coated with POR15 and silicone. The new plastic top hats are glued in place with the driver side air vent bolted back on.

I'm waiting for a new heater core to come that I ordered (may as well replace it) and then I'll put that heater box back in and that should be it. I feel this will take care of the leaks for a long time.. Thankfully the problem was no way as bad as what I have heard about like needing to replace the entire metal because it was totally rotted away..

Other than that, the entire cowl was soild!!

Yeah, it's kinda hard to take good pics while you are standing on your head, huh? Glad it is coming together Slick.
