There are electric fans, and then there electric fans. First, why do you think you need an electric fan? Second, what setup do you have?

I dont have a electric fan setup right now. i will have a 347, performer RPM package, stock radiator, pullies. I want a electrical fan for the HP reasons. It will be a daily driver and i will be in hot weather. i dont want a fan shroud around the mechanical fan.

You are going to have a shroud around an electrical fan, so why not have one around the stock fan? Understand, that you will save a few ponies with an electrical fan, but you will also be taxing the alternator, therefore drawing more HP. Have you thought about upgrading your alternator to something besides the 70 amp stock alternator? Anyway, the fan you have chosen is a proven and reliable electric fan. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/ford-mustang.html

Then, I think you will need the flexlite #475. Call them before you leap. BTW, the 66 Mustang did not have a stock shroud from the factory. I put on an aftermarket one on my 65, and it is not the gross plastic thing that covers half the engine bay as on newer models.

Decide on whether you want a push or a pull fan.

My 66 came with a stock shroud. Its a metal one, that is definietly stock. It doesnt seal too well around the radiator, however it is there. Maybe A/C fitted cars had them?
