Put an Summit brand HEI in my 67 and I like it except I ran into clearance problems with the heater fitting on the manifold and the air cleaner.

What kind of manifold, carb and air cleaner are you using? what did you do about the clearance problem?

Using a Wieand Sleath, a holley 570 and a 14 inch K&N. I had to go to an 11 inch K&N and I'm not real happy with it. It looks too small. For the heater hose connection I had to usde a straght nipple and get a hose with a pre bent 90.

Here are some pic's. This is with the 14 inch air cleaner and a 3/4 inch spacer to raise the air cleaner. It was all going to work like that until I put the hood on. Not even close to clearing the hood. Dizzy seems to work good. It has a vacuum advance on it that I haven't got dialed in yet. I haven't driven the car since I got it running except to take it for alignment. I'm on the body now.

Hey that should work good for you. If clearance on the hood is not an issue go with a one inch spacer. The 3/4 was a little tight on the dizzy. If could have been higher.
