Default What is a 289 2+2??

Ok, ok, it's TOTALLY a newbie question, but I couldn't figure it out on my own, so if someone could please help me out on this one, I'd appreciate it.

What does it mean when I see an ad for a '289 V8 2+2'?

2+2 was what Ford called the Fastback model. A 289 2+2 would be a fastback w/289 engine.

No problem. We all started out as "newbies" at one time or another. I remember when I started out in the early '80's, it was even tougher because there wasn't this wonderful thing called "The Internet" out there. Around me, most of the "Car Guys" are GM nuts, so it was even tougher.

I also think the 2 + 2 refers to the front two bucket seats, plus the back seat which can fold up for seats or down for a flat carpeted area under the rear window.
