Default engine value

Hey all. Have a question. I am probably going to the Cleveland and I have a guy who wants to buy my 302. Here are the specifics.

very low miles
flat top pistons
standard crank
40 over
GT40 cast heads w/screw in studs
comp cam 280H-10 (512 lift/230 duration)
performer intake
newer Holly 570 street avenger- just rebuilt
factory dist w/pertronix

runs great!

Can you guys give your opinion what it might be worth?

Thanks in advance.

Well, a crate engine like that would sell for around 2-4K. Personally, I wouldn't give as much for an engine that someone else had built just for the fact that I don't know how good of an engine it is. Im not saying that your engine isn't great, but there just no way for the guy buying it to know whats inside. I would say somewhere around $1000-$1500

yeah, it's kinda like buying a retired rental car. you don't know who beat it like a redheaded step child. not saying you beat on it or not. you may be able to fair a little better parting it out, but that's up to you. if you know dyno numbers it would help a bit, but 1000 to 1500 doesn't sound half bad.

40 over is a lot also. If I were buying an engine I would rather have something with a little thicker walls.
