Is it possible to adapt a Shaker assembly to fit with a 1966 Mustang with a 289? I know that the assembly for a 289/302 is avaliable but does assembly sit too high for the hood? Any help or advice would be appreciated. (I do know that I will have to cut a hole in the hood, but the hood-frame would not get in the way)

 

You should be able to make it work. I did one on a 67.
