Am i correct in thinking that my C4 holds about 8 or 9 quarts? and my car hasnt been licensed since 96 so is it a good idea to change the tranny n rearend fluid all at once?

yes, C4 refill capacity is 8-10 quarts, depending on the car model

With the balancer, it should be about 5 1/2 quarts. Start with that, then see if you have too much in her, or need to add more. It is a lot easier to add more than to drain out some.
