Default MSD is it worth it?

Hey guys, what's your opinion on Installing a msd ignition system? I'm always hearing different opinions on it. Some people say
it's not worth it unless you're running a high performance motor, or a high compression motor, others say it's worth it because you
save gas and stuff. what do you think?

I love mime it always start quitely and has never missed abeat. Also when I upgrade the engine that part of it is already done. I also don't have to worry about vacume problem because nothing on the car works on vacume now.

For HI performance / HI HP you bet it is. That's all everyone runs at the dirt track.
For a stock to slightly modified motor, it's probably over spending, an after market hi-output coil, will do the job.

I have MSD billet distributors with full MSD 6ALs on two cars and another 6AL on another. If you have a stock ignition with points now, its a good upgrade. If you have breakerless ignition already then you wont see as much of a difference.

They do start much easier and idle alot better. One of the cars with the full system is my race car, the other is a mild street car, works great in both. The rev limiter on the 6AL is nice, my big engines dont like alot of RPM, so if the tires break lose, the trans slips, or something goes wrong, I dont ventilate my block with a rod.
