crappy intake combo?
Alright, I have a 302 small-block in my car and I don't think that my intake combo is exactly ideal for the engine. It's got an Edelbrock Torker and a Carter AFB Comp. Series 4-barrell carb. When I was out driving it this weekend, I stood on it from a dead stop and it just fell right on it's face [:@] . Is it getting too much fuel? Would stroking my engine to 347ci help at all? I was planning on doing that anyway, I just don't want to go to a smaller carb, that would just stop me from powering up my engine anymore. Thanks for any input.

Hey, Sauce. I had the exact same problem with my Torker II. I just swapped it out for a Performer. I hope to fire her up tonight and I'll let you how big of a difference it made. I kept complaining about my throttle response and low-end performance and all I kept hearing was "get rid of that single plane intake and get a dual plane". According to Edelbrock, the Torker doesn't really start making any power until the higher RPMs, whereas the Performer makes it power from idle to 5500rpm. I know this is not a definitive answer (yet), but just wanted to tell you I was had the same problem. I'll keep you posted...
