Default steering column pull

i wanted to pull the steering column from the donor car but after i removed the bolts there was some type of wire or cord attaching it to a jumble of other crap under the dash. i couldnt get a good look because of dust and stuff falling in my eyes and the mix of randomonium from the previous owners...half the wires arent attached to anything, they just hang there. Anyway, the cable looked liek it went to a white cylinder or square like object behind the ignition and wiper control. I couldnt get the cable out and I was wondering if you all could tell me how to remove it. Thanks in advance.

65-67....you need to pull it out through the engine bay...yank EVERYTHING out of the divers side of the bay first...then pull it out the top, above the radiator

nope its a 69. And i've already got it loose from the box and unbolted from the dash. There is just this one little cable that won't let it go. Hence the sig. lol

Its a almost flat connector - it's got a slight curve and connects the steering column functions (indicators, horn etc) into the wiring form via a flat cable. It's just a matter of unplugging it. Use a bit more force and it will separate.

Don't know much about the 69's, so just a wild guess here. If it is a cable, it could possibly be two things. One, is the fresh air vent cable, and two would be a hood release if the 69's had those. Again, this is just a guess.
