Default Enough??

Ok, so im almost done my 351 swap into my 68 coupe. Its a 71 351 2 barrel engine. I have a pertronix ignitor and accel cap, rotor and wires and new plugs. I have dual exhaust and i do plan on strapping on my holly 600 from my other engine with an aluminum intake. It has an 8 inch rear with 3.80:1 gears in it. I left the stock manifolds on because i dont want to buy headers and have them rust out on me but i may consider going to a larger exhaust. My question is will this be enough grunt just for my daily driver? Do you think i will notice a difference from my 302 even though im going from a 4 barrel to a 2 barrel?

with a stock 2V Cleveland and 3.80 gears you will have a fun ride. Maybe add a mild cam to the mix, nothing huge like a 280 but more like the cam smaller than the XE274, right around 218 intake @ .050 and a 224 exhuast @ .050 cam. That would make it run pretty well...

The 600 carb will limit the top end, but that is okay so do the manifolds. Still it is way better than a 289/302 in stock form.

It won't rip your drawers off, but it will be a fun cruiser.
