Patriot headers
Have any of you guys ran Patriot headers on a small block in a 68 mustang? We're currently in the process of switching from a FE to a 302, and I was wondering about these headers. The price is right. Any advice is appreciated!!
Hey Superboss when you change the Z bar did you have to change anything else? I want to do the Tri-Y's in my car and I was told the same thing, unless I spend $500 for the Hooker Headers 61111 model , I really dont want to spend that much for Headers only!
It would be wise to inspect the bar that goes from the z-bar to the fork and the rod from the pedal to the z-bar, if they are worn heavily then they need to be replaced. The bearings, clips, and felt bushing need to be replaced on the z-bar as maintainence(no stuff like new stuff), but at a bear minimum, the z-bar is the only thing to replace. The HiPo z-bar is the only part different from stock Ford equipment, it was initially designed for the original 65-66 GT-350 because of the Tri-Ys used by Shelby. The bottom part of the arm is shorter than the stock z-bar, this is the only difference.
I got the 2.5 inch collectors and the 1.5-1.75 primaries (bigger than standard Tri-Ys) with the coating for just over $300 with sales tax; the ceramic coated Hooker Headers were just over $500(they're nice, but I don't want them that bad).

I suppose we'll try these headers and see what happens. He wants to put the Clippster model in, so hopefully there isn't any clearance issues! No matter what I guess it won't be as bad as the FE!!
Thanks guys
