Cleaning Convertible Top???
Hello gang,
I'm looking for a good cleaning product to clean my 66 convertible top. The car was in storage for 20 years, yes 20 years not a typo. Oil has spilled onto the top and has yellowed it where it landed. Plus time has taken its toll on the rest. What product would you recommend to clean the top.
I have used soap water, a degreaser w/soap and water. Any suggestions???
Thanks
Slyder

A buddy of mine had a 70 convertable with a white rag top, Prior to him buying it, it had been vandalized on the used car lot and spray painted on the body and top. He was able to use a scouring powder that contained bleech and a good stiff bristle scrub brush. When he was done with it you would have never known there was ever red paint on it.
Go to an army surplus store /Camping store and they have great products to clean and protect convertible tops. No they dont sell convertible tops but they sell tents and materials that our convertible tops are made of. So they have products to clean and protect.
