I Need Help In Selling My Mustang
I wanted to sell it on e - bay but found out quickly that the information I thought I knew about the car was wrong and since I already put up a listing there was nothing I could do.
If I didn't need the money so badly I wouldn't sell it at all, I truely love this car.
Can someone here please help me in writing a good listing that will sell the car at a price that it needs to be?

I took the car down to a local detail center and they detailed it. I'm sorry but that is as good as it gets. But what do people expect from 38 year old floormats?
Here is the details that I have:
The Engine - 200 Straight 6
Trans - Automatic
Interior - Pony (original)
Tires - New (Dec 05 25 miles on them)
Brakes - New (Dec 05)
I should say that everything but the tires, the brakes, the steering wheel and the radio are original. We have extensive maintenance records and we have only had the car since Nov. of 2005.
The mileage on the car itself is 103473 but the engine has just been rebuilt so I would approx. maybe 500 miles on the rebuild.
I'd appreciate everything you guys can do since I can tell from reading ...you guys are the pros when it comes to Mustangs.

25 bucks for new floor mats.
Again, that engine bay needs detailing. We have a section in the FAQ about detailing your engine bay with the engine left in the car. Now, if you want me to do a write-up ad for you, I will be happy to do that. Just Email me all the fine details.

If the car is in pretty decent shape, rust wise, I'd say it's worth somewhere in the $2,500.00 - 3,500.00 range depending on the market in your area and the buyer. Hope this gets you in the ballpark anyway.
Appraisals over the internet are far from accurate. From your photos, it appears that your Mustang is fairly straight. As the others have stated, there are some minor things you can do to attract bigger spenders.
full detailing
1) Interior - Clean the carpet (including the mats), dash, instrument panel, etc. - pay special attention to the cracks and crevices for dirt and dust accumulation.
2) Exterior - A good wash (strip all old wax), followed by a rubbing out any foggy areas, then a good wax. Be very detailed with the body panel joints to get all dirt and wax build-up removed.
3) Engine compartment - start with a steam clean to dislodge stingy dirt and oil. Spend some time disassembling parts and components to expose as much of the compartment walls as possible. Touch up the walls with the appropriate engine compartment paint.
4) Align your fog-lights
Spend some time taking the photos, using zoom and wide angles to show more detail. Shoot the trunk and undercarriage. Shoot the headliner and backseat. Present as much info as you can as to the way this car is equipped.
As stated, this weekend's worth of work and minimal investment will yield bigger dollars. If you're not careful, you might end up keeping her around after you see how good she looks.
I am guessing you have a fairly standard plain-Jane 200ci 6cyl '68. That steering wheel is a value detractor. From what I see, this car in my area would bring a high of $2.5k. Detail it and you might see a high 3's offer (with your patience).
