Default Bad Headlight Switch?

So i went to go drive my 1965 coupe tonight and when i went to turn on the headlights they flickered for a second and then turned off. Then i decided to see if the high beams worked and they do! What could be the reason my normal headlights won't work but the high beams will? I was thinking a bad headlight switch and just wanted to see what you guys thought. This is my first post and you guys seem to know quite a bit about classic mustangs so i though i would look for some help on this one. Thanks for any info!

Sounds like a dimmer switch problem to me.
