If you have been keeping up, I got a "NEW" AM radio. Well, at least it is new to me thanks to Mustanglover66.
And, I appreciate your MP status. Remember, my son was an MP in the Army for 9 years.
Hey Marine....Do you guys need anything we can send you to help make life more comfortable while you are in Iraq? I am sponsoring a troop in Afghanistan, and they are having a tough time getting shaving cream, tooth paste, etc. If you or any of your troops need anything like that PM me, and I will hook you up.
I really like the style of those valve covers. Has that "period" look to them.
If you've got a 302 crank in that block, let her warm up well before "free reving" the engine much over 3k rpms. Also set your rev limit to around 5,500 rpm. Stay away from high rpm light loads too.
The 289 block had shorter cylinder skirts, so with the longer throw of a 302 crank the pistons tend to rock at the bottom a little more.
Nothing to worry about. Plenty of engines have been built this way. You'll get plenty of mileage with a little care.
Very nice job on the detailing. Really looks nice!
Have fun!

Yep, she sure is! Edelbrock carb could use some adjustment(s) from someone who knew what they were doing
. Other then that, and being a bit louder then I like, she runs great. I just put in a toploader 4 speed too. Needless to say, I am having a blast [sm=gears.gif]

Hey everyone. First, Im sorry for getting off topic. The base Im at, is very homey. Its very modern, and we have all the luxuries. I have ac, hot daily showers, hot daily cooked food, the net duh, .04/minute phone calls to the States, a PX aka store with everything we need to get by. This is my first time in Iraq and I actually feel really guilty because of all the great stuff we have. I actually really like it out here. I just tried to sign up for a 2nd tour out here, but the Unit that is replacing us has too many MPs already and dont need any more. I know there are Marines and soldiers that have it really hard. If you still want to send out care packages to me and the rest of the MP platoon, PM me and Ill get you the address and a list of suggestions of what to send. We are all greatful that we have so many people back in the States who support us. Thank you all for everything. Semper Fi

Thanks for the info on the engine too. What do you mean by "high rpm light loads"? Does that mean reving in park or neutral?
