1978 Mustang II (Worth it?)

RE: 1978 Mustang II (Worth it?)
yeah, um, bump up to a fox body. the only thing that seems to be fading for these cars are body kits (but they all look like **** anyhoo!) and parts are a dime a dozen and easy to find. it's an all around car for a first build/project. plus they are bound to have a little less rust than something older which will def help in your build.
but seriously, a mustangII?!? i saw one at the parts store the other day, side pipes, 347 stroker. sounded nice, but the only way to make it look good is to go with a clear plexyglass body! i wouldn't use one as a paper weight.
i want to get an 06, 96 and an 86 to go with my 66 (every 10 year model). notice i left out 76 cause they look like turd.

but seriously tho, now picture it with a 347/aod/injection. youd have an ugly little pig on wheels that would beat the pants off most fox-bodies on the street. they dont seem like such a bad car to start with, and actually look ok if done in moderation.
this one with some modern wheels doesnt seem like it would be so bad. i could live with it

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Don't say Ghia!!! It just aint right!!! Although, the Cobra like others mentioned is, well, sort of acceptable. But any other, with a 4 or 6...just get a Chevette and drive off the bridge. It's quicker and the results are the same. You will be shamed to death and no one will find you!!!!!!!! Just kidding, get what you want. Although, I would rather a rusted 66 for the same money!

a mustang's a mustang, you just decided on "heap" years. i wouldn't say not to get it, it's all up to you. BTW, what is your budget? around what amt just to buy the car and how much are you looking to spend afterwards?

If the car is a V-8 hatchback, buy it. If it isn't a rustbucket you can drive it like it is for a while and sell it when you find something better. The car I looked at today is a V-6 hatchback that is rock solid for $ 1,200.00. I would have jumped all over it if it had been a V-8 , 4 speed car. No rust at all, a bent hood and broken grille, white with good black interior , etc ... jmho, dEAN

I think the cobras and king cobras are a very nice looking car. It's something that no one else will have. How many II Cobra's have you seen driving around?
