Default '67 Coupe Conversion

Does anyone know whether or not it would even be possible to convert a 67 Coupe to a fastback?

They're so much easier to find and tend to be cheaper after all.

You can do anything if you got enough money, but in the long run itll be cheaper to buy a fastback.

You have to replace more than just the roof. The glass for instance. Bad idea!!!

I'm not concerned about the time or effort that might be involved, but would it take more than say $3,000-$4,000?

If you want to see a glimpse of what is involved, check out this 1966 coupe to fastback conversion. I think a 67 or 68 would pose more challenges.

it's a lot of work to "save" a car, if you want to call that saving it. don't get me wrong, i want a fastback more than ANYTHING, but i wouldn't chop my coupe to get one, even if cost wasn't a question. i love my little basket case coupe. leave the coupe a coupe just go find a fastback, you'll save yourself a headache in the long run. it may take a bit to find one, but it'll be worth it.

I've seen some complete fiber glass body kits for 67/68 Mustangs from American Street Rod. Check this out: http://www.americanstreetrod.com/mustang_eleanor.htm

it's a cool kit, i like the coupe "e2" kit better cause everyone's doing the that, plus you gotta have a fb first.

It says "Fits Fastback and Convertible/Coupes." Thats a cut and paste quote, but I don't know if its true... I imagine that once you've pulled the whole body off, and you're just working with the frame, that it wouldn't be any harder with a coupe or convertible.

i know, the one you linked was a fb kit. the coupe kit is a bit different, that's all. the thing here is this guy wants to know about cutting the roof section off a fb and welding it onto a coupe body.
