Default Colors

I have a 1968 Mustang Coupe, it is avacado like green and appeared to have a similar interior, which the previous owner sprayed black. I am now considering repainting her and can not find a good color combo. I am not married to the green and I am looking for examples of excellent paint combinations. If anyone has pics please proudly display them. My hood has the turn signal lights. I had considered striping these on the hood and running the stripes back, and picking them up on the trunk. Has anyone seen this before?

Troy

If you like the green and are not worried about any "standard factory color" the dark Jade Green metallic like on the Bonneville and Grand Prix, like a 94 model is very nice color. It has a gold metallic. Add some gold or black, or even white stripes and it is a very cool combination. And yes, I have had stripes like you mention. They were popular like that in the 70's. I had a 65 Mustang that was cobalt blue with 2 white stripes on the hood. None on the roof but yes on the trunk. I also painted the tailight panel white too. I liked it a lot. Sorry, no pics. I have 1 surviving picture. It was my first car in 1974. My next was a 68 Camaro I painted the green I mention. It had this pucky lime gold interior I was stuck with. The exterior was the same...YUK! I had similar stripes on it...the lime HAS TO GO!!!

Call me crazy, but I love that color green. If my 65 needed a paint job, I would seriously consider avacodo green, no joke. The blue of of my car is nice, but a bit flashier then I prefer. I say keep her green!

-my 2 cents

Dark Metalic Grey looks nice. With a black and same color grey interior.
Think in like 2003-4 (maybe) Ford had this color on the mustangs. I was going to paint my stang up this color, the samples we painted looked really good. We had the guy that mixed it add some pearl to it as well. But I feel in love with blaze, burnt red so that's the color my stang is going to be. Might head to your local autoparts store and look through some books for some ideas or pick up a stang magizine or any car mag.
