1970 Mach I values
I'm currently looking to buy a '70 Mach I and was wondering and was wondering if anyone knows what they have been going for on the current market. I designate the car as a #4 vehicle. I'm asking because I have seen a wide array of values on different websites. I have seen everything from $8000 to $16,000. The car itself is a 4-speed manual with a 351 C 2V and traction lok. The interior needs to be gutted (console, dash bezzle, and door pannels can be reused) but the underbody seems very solid with only minor rust damage to the torque boxes. The body pannels show no rust but will need some filler to smooth out. The left front fender apron will need to be replaced and the car may need the trunk floor pannels replaced but I wouldnt know until I got into the car more. The owner is asking $11,500...anyone have any opinions?
Seems high to me, just my opinion. If the apron and trunk are rusted you may find more as you dig. I am not afraid of rust as my 66 needs a quarter flare and 1 lower door patch as well as a few 50cent size spots, which will probably grow by the time it is done. If you start at 11,500, try to figure the best you can on what it will take to get it the way you want. If it's all in budget you only have to decide yes or no. Value is always "a matter of opinion". Most people think "theirs" is worth a little bit more. I would think 11,500 would get me more...but I look more at 65,66,67,68. See the link for a 1970 Mach 1, painted, prepped, new engine...15,500. Can you make the one you are looking at this for 4 grand more??? If so, here is your guage!

I agree with what was said above. $11,500 seems alittle high.
It sounds like a big project, a new interior will cost you a few hundred $ just for the material.
If there is rust in the trunk & torque boxes check the floor pans, frame rails.
Body work and a new paint job will cost a few grand.
The older Mustangs are known for rusting.
For that price you should be able to find a rust free Mustang.
