that little bracket beside the tank. Only thing I can think of is to strap the tire down, but isnt that what the hole in the flooring is for?

there should be a spot where a j shaped bolt fits into that the hole for the tire hold down

got you, well then what is that hole in the flooring for? its on both sides and grommeted?

Thats where the car was being held when going down the Assembly line. Well the back part of the car anyway!
The two little holes in the trunk, that are cover by a grommet
