Default Interior cleaner and chromed plastic

What is a good cleaner for the interior that will not damage the chromed plastic parts like around the gauges, dash panels, door panels etc on a 1968 Mercury Cougar. Not sure if the Mustangs have as much chromed plastic as the cougar but there is a lot in the cougar and most of it is in pretty good shape and I dont want to ruin it.

Also, for years I have used armorall in vehicles and on weatherstripping with no bad results, but I keep hearing bad things about armorall, is it really that bad ?

Will armorall damage the chromed plastic ?
