Default Transmission died

Hey my c4 died on the interstate......was cruising at about 70 and fluid went every where. Rebuild time? How much does a rebuild run for?

500-800 at a shop, unless you ask Aamco, then it'll be over $1000

put some fluid in it, fix the leak, and see what happens. sounds like a line just blew off.

Go to a REAL transmission shop that stocks new/old parts and everything...they can keep the price down below 500.

If you're going to replace it, time to switch to an AOD.. You can get an AOD from the guy I got mine from for $650 delivered..

hmmm....I havent looked at it yet because its been raining. It is possible a line blew off, because I didnt hear anything break.
And the shifter felt fine. There was no grinding, just lost all my fluid.

If you have a cooler, the first thing to check is the line running from the tranny to the radiator.

No cooler. The fluid seems to e comng from inside where the flywheel is.....on another note, i checked the fluid level and its still full....im 100% sure its tranny fluid. I watched it pour out from underneath all over the interstate. All my fluids are at normal though.
