Now, that is really weird. If all your fluid levels are full, how could it be tranny fluid? Maybe you ran over a cat and that red blood looks like tranny fluid?

In order to check the proper fluid level in the tranny, it has to be hot. A cold reading will give you an erroneous reading. You said you were on the interstate going 70+ MPH when it blew. Now, which is it? Cold or hot reading?

I didnt check it on the interstate. I saw it pouring out. Assumed it all drained out. I go outside today to check it(cold) and it said full. So I guess your correct on the error check. Should I just go buy a manual and put it in? Since It use to be one and still has the clutch pedal?

Pouring out from where? You still haven't established that.

well if the front seal went out then it would spray fluid everywhere when its running. A broken line will do the same thing. That will spray onto everything under the car and then it will drip and make a puddle.

If the pan isnt leaking, there will still be fluid in it if you shut it off before all of it sprayed out. it only takes a loss one quart or less to make it stop working. What was left in the trans would fill the pan no problem, so if you check it cold and not running, it will look ok.

The proper way to check the oil level is by starting the car on a level surface, getting it to operating temperature, pull the stick, wipe it off, put it back in, pull it out again and read it. If it is only on the tip of the stick its very low, it after all that its in the normal operating area, then great.

Some trouble shooting to do:
When you start it does it have fluid spraying from anywhere?
When you checked the fluid last time, was the engine running?
Is more of the oil coming from the front of the car, front of the transmission, or rear of the transmission?
Will it move if there is the proper amount of oil in it and its warm?
Do all the gears function including reverse and neutral is actually neutral and not pushing the car forward?

As for the shifter, it is connected to the valvebody. The valavebody has a bunch of holes in it that have valves in them. They move a certain way when the shifter is in a certain place, letting the oil flow a different path. The shifter isnt connected to gears like in a manual trans, its simple a hydrualic valve selector and you wont feel anything if there isnt enough fluid in there.

You get what you pay for when it comes to trans rebuilds. A cheap one will probably have cheap parts in it. An espensive one will be built by a knowledgeable, and competent professional who will make sure everything inside there is perfect. Do you need something that good? Well maybe you do maybe you dont. it depends on use.

If you have any questions just ask, next week I will be able to provide diagrams and pics if you need them. I owned a trans shop for a few years and C4s are almost the easiest transmissions to build, the 904 and 727 torqflights from Chrysler are the absolute easiest 3 speed automatics I have ever seen. AODs are a great trans too, when building them, everything has to be spot on and perfectly clean.

Find where exactly the leak is first.

When I get home, ill try running the car to see if fluid comes out any where. I have not ran the car since the problem occured. It was towed to my house. The fluid poured out of the flywheel. I dont have an inspection plate so it drained out of there. The pan is not leaking, I recently changed the gasket and its fine.

Would now be a smart time to swap back over to manual? Since it used to be one. Would it be a good idea to buy a used t-5?

I really appreciate your help guys. Thanks.
