About to give up.
Well, day after day I become more fustrated with my 66. Mot being able to work on it cause I have no time, no money. Than when I do, I run into more and more poo that needs to be fixed again, is rusting out or has been stuffed with multiple pounds of BONDO!!! Found out a little while back that the D/S rear quarter was replaced already, not a full panel, it starts about 4-6 inches behind the door. I also noticed there was a crack where it was supposed to be welded (it's been rivited on) and figured, I'll go get a sanding disc and sand it down to find out the problem. Well, once again, I've opened another can of worms I don't want to deal with. In the process of sanding down the spots, I found that there is bondo EVERYWHERE and the job they did was horrendous(sp)!!! I still haven't really gotten to the bottom of this problem and have the other fender flair (rear P/S) to worry about next. That has bondo in plain sight and what an un-Godly sight it is. To make it all worse, I still have to take my head to the machine shop to have the bolts drilled out and re-tapped!
Further compounding my problems is the fact that I live at home, have no garage, minimal tools (working on that one) and make only $8.86/hr (at a friggin hospital, no less) and have $16xx inj collections (my fault there). I feel like I'm never gonna get this thing done. i refuse to let it go even though I could prolly find one in better shape, but once again, back to the money thing. I have NONE! This is so damn fustrating! I just wanna give up, but I can't !

Mow some yards. Thats what I've done to get mine. About 10-15 yards a week I make about 400 a week. Charge an average of 30 dollars an hour, sometimes more. All with a pushmower so I can haul it around in the bed of my truck. I do it of the evening and still work a job during the day too. My other job don't may much thoug, like yours, so the yards are my main source of income.
I don't know any encouraging words I can give you other than hang in there. Put your mustang on the back burner and get your life together before you venture forward with the restoration of an old car.
Hang in there buddy, I have been there a few times myself, once had a 70 Shelby GT 500 KR convert, how sick do you think I am that I had to sell that. Presently in my mid fifties and still struggling to make it, but not going to give up, working on a 65 Mustang coupe that like yours has aton of bondo and needs so many things that I dont even want to see the list. Have to put mine on hold to have surgery this week, but it will be ther when I am well again. Just got it running right for the first tme tonight. If it werent for some online help from the guys at www.351winsor.com, would still be out in the garage. Keep digging and things will always look better another day. Will keep you in my prayers tonight, and remember there are always friends at this place.
yeah, it's a b---- trying to get licensed, work full time, build a business and restore a badly abused car. i really need a garage cause at least than i could strip out everything and prep it for the body work and have a place to work on it without having to worry about more rust building up and having the weather stop me from working.
now i really have to kick myself in the *** for sitting for 2 years the first time i got licensed in the financial field. i let my licenses expire and did nothing with them. i could have paid someone by now to resto this thing for me. well, i guess SWMBO was right, i need to stop ****ing around and do something with myself already.
EDIT: i too need to have surgery, which is pissing me off. i'm gonna need both knees and my right shoulder, if not both shoulders worked on. i'm only 22 and have been putting my knee surgery off for 6 years.

If I have learned nothing in my 62 years on this earth, I have learned that my health and the health of my family members takes presidence to any old car.
hell, I'll buy you a keg. I'm really sorry that you are getting all these lemons out of life. I hope that everything turns out better for you in the end. Just think, even sitting there rusting, that car is still appreciating in value..
