Alternator Removal

My friend at work wants to try his hand at turnin wrenches so i told him he could replace my bad alternator, but he wants a set of instructions for removing it. so anybody care to write up jus a few sentences for the ol' shmuck to guide himn alont on my '68 coupe . 289.

loosen the two bolts remove the belt, remove the wires from the back, finish taking the bolts out finished!

ha. ok. Ill please the poor smouck.
1. Loosen the the upper and lower bolts.
2. Push the alternator towards the lower driver side to loosen the belt.
3. Remove the belt.
4. I would try removing the wires before finishing removing the alt. That way, there will be less chance of you messing up a wire, but you can just as easily remove the wires with the alt. unbolted. Whichever you prefer. Tell him i said good luck!
