Default oil pressure

I still have the stock guage. When the car is warmed up, the guage is actually reading below the little line on the low side. That is getting real close to low. This is starting to get me worried, because it has just started doing it.

If you are positive your gauge is correct, then the low oil pressure is caused by worn oil and pressure rings. Time for an overhaul if that is the case.

well, i wouldn't know for sure about the guage. I have just replaced the voltage regulator. IT wasn't too long ago, the oil pressure was alright. It has just slowly been declining over the past year or two. I believe my heads are deterioating.

Do not trust the stock gage for something like this...only a good mechanical gage will tell you the truth. Stock gages are little better than warning lights.

I was thinking it could be the oil pump. I was planning on dropping the oil pan, when i do my cam, intake, etc. upgrades. Ill put in a hi performance one. Hopefully that will bring it up, but first, i need to get a guage on there, so i know where i am at.

There's always the column mount, old skool style.
