I had the same problem once I bought a cheap mechanical gage and hooked it up temporarily to trouble-shoot the problem, I just took one screw out from under the dash and mounted it there. Also keep it mind the pump only provides oil volume the rod and main bearings make the pressure. with these old stangs its easy to drop the pan and change them, just take the crossmember under the pan off and it will drop right out.
What cross member? that is good info. I didn't know that the main bearings made the pressure.....
any small orifice will make pressure. Picture if you were able to put a straw on your faucet in your sink, the pressure would be much greater at the end of the straw then were its connected to the fuacet.
