Default interior paint colors

I just painted my back panels of my 68 coupe with paint that I had matched up thru Mustangsplus going by my paint code on the car serial number. It said that I had light nugget gold for a color on those parts. I test sprayed on the underside of one of the panels and it looked very close to the original color, realizing that I wasn't going to get "dead on" After the panels dried I re-installed them in the car and the paint color is much different than the rest of the interior....ie door panels and kick panels...could my interior be so faded that that is my problem, or could the color be mixed a little to dark from mustangsplus? they sent me laquer, but I don't think that is the problem. I was just trying to get away with "touch up" on my panels, but if I use this color I am afraid I will have to redo everything...thanks

haha! but seriously, there is a good chance your car faded, it is quite old and prolly has quite a few YEARS of out door time. you may have the EXACT mix of the color the way it was from the factory, but the color on your car is faded. get some detailing claybar and see if that takes some oxydization off and brighten the color of the car. it may be just enought to let you squeeze by. just remember there is a good chance you'll have to get it re-sprayed if you mind the panels matching. can you get some pics so we can see what's going on?

+1. Most likely the rest is faded. On my Palomino color, there are 3 different shade of that stuff. Check to make sure there is only one shade of yours.
