Default Spring Rates?

Hey guys,
I am going to swap my front springs. I will be using KYB gas adjust shocks and I would like to use lowering springs. I want to improve the ride and handling, but don't want a harsh ride. I am running stock styled steel 14" rims with 215/70/14's.

I see 620 rate, and 720 rate springs advertised and wondering if anyone has used either and what their impressions are. Or, should I just cut the original springs? Also, anyone know what the rate of the orignal springs were? Advice, opinions appreciated.
Thanks
Mack

I have a 67 C Code with new KYB shocks GR2's) and Mustangs Plus 620, 1 inch lowering front coils and 4 1/2 leaf mid eye (1 inch lowering) rear springs from them. JUST installed last week, not too harsh, much improved and stance is perfect. I took some pics but they're too damn big, the forum won't accept them. I'll take new ones today. Oh, and I have 15 inch (new) Styled steel P20570R15's...

Their front 620 coils are very nice, don't cut your springs..and I think 720s are overkill and maybe too harsh for you.

The popular choice for the front springs is the 620.

My guess is yes, but I'd call and talk to Mustangs Plus. Tehy specialize in their suspension products, they'll know for sure. The rating of them is truly 560lb, versus somewhere like 190lb stock springs...and it still isn't too harsh. they're just right.

sounds like it'll work. now just need to get some loot together and rip out the old shet! someone here a sponser/vendor or something has a suspension kit with new spindels, anyone know who i'm talking about? i wanna check that out since i wanna upgrade to 5 lug and disc, i might as well take care of that while i have all of the suspension components out as well![8D]

and so any of our sponsers/venders sell re-man'd or new 5 lug drum stuff for the rear? i want to convert the rear to disc too, but wanna compare cost.
