Oil pan!?
Im switching the fox style on my crate engie to a front sump and i need to figure out what pan would be best... There is Canton who i have never heard of but looks to be a great product, so anyone know if canton is good or should i just go with moroso because their well known? also i could just go a ford 5.0 stock front sump, but idont know if the 7qt will help alot... let me know
You don't need a 7 quart or windage tray oil pan unless you are running a serious race engine. The Canton pan will work just fine. The trick is to get the gasket set onto the pan with sealer and dried before you install it on the engine. Then torque it to specs in the right order.
Canton is one of the topline manufactures who have been around for a long time. Excellent quality, great service and support. I really like their road race pan. You can take some really twisty stuff with no oiling issues.
You'll see a lot of OT cars (as well as track only cars with Canton pans).
