Guys, is 20W-somthing, an ok oil to run in the summer? Im running 10w and have real low oil pressure. I wanted to step it up a notch to slow down my leaks, and get better oil pressure. I just bought some HIGH MILEAGE oil, and it's 20W. $20 later.

 

You can go to 20-50 to get a higher oil rating, but if you are burning 10-30 or 10-40 your oil rings are toast.

 

it's not burning it, it just leaks. It does burn on start up because of my heads.

 

on these old school motors is a good idea in the summer time they dont have the tight tolerances of the newer motors most of the 5.0 guys run 20-50 i run it

 

Ok, THats what i thought R-model. Thanks. Im sure it'll improve oil pressure, becuase it just started getting worse, the hotter the weather got. Stupid worn out bearings.
