I'll be damn. I learn something every day. Mine doesn't have that, so I guess it was taken off years ago. My pedal flops a little from left to right, but not enough to worry me. I have just figured all these years that was just the way it was supposed to be.

Soaring that spring will actually keep the top of your pedal up. It gives it a a real tight factory feel. I like them. Just a little detail that nobody will ever notice but you.

Where do you think I can get one? Most Mustang vendors? And, what exactly do you call it?

I think most of them have it. I would call it a gas pedal spring. I'll look.

Accellerator spring, huh? Hey, thanks for that info. That sounds like a 3 dollar help that will make my pedal seem more like factory.

After working on Ol' Yeller for 10 years, I am aware of puzzles. Generally, there is nothing that is just change and go. There is always something that is upstream in wiring problems, or parts just don't seen to go together logically. But, after screwing around with it for several hours, it generally turns out just fine. For instance. When my starter went out the first time, I got a starter for a 3 speed manual which I have. The lip on the damn thing was too thick to fit into the hole, so I went online an found that I needed the starter designed for the C4 automatic. I thought WTF is up with that, but sure enough, the auto starter slipped right in, and works just great. Go figure.
