Default newb question

What are the 2 things attached to the hood. The metal clip type things? What do they do?

Those are hood pins. They are used to keep the hood down when you are running without a regular hood latch. You can use them with a regular hood latch also.

Even with a hood latch, they were used by racers to insure the hood stays down in racig situations.

Ya they are hood pins, like everyone else said. BUT the real cool guys run em WITHOUT the stupid lanyard/string things. just the clips... if you lift the hood at a show or somethin make sure not to lose em though!

No i didnt notice, i wasnt trying to make fun of you. But the original 350's and such that had the hood pins from the factory DID NOT have strings. IMHO it looks cooler. You stang still looks badass.

and the easiest way to do that is, take 'em off, open the hood and put them back on the posts w/the hood open.
