Default 68 coupe restoration

I'm a newbe with mustang restoration. I have a 68 coupe that has some mixed parts (ie: gas cap and wheel covers). It will also need some cosmetic restoration. If I want to keep it as close to original as I can, where can I find out what options were offered for the mustangs in 68. When I look at sites like americanpony.com for parts; there are multiple options for something like a gas cap, rims, etc. I've also found an option for the letters
F- O - R - D written across the hood, but I don't know if this was an option for a coupe, shelby, or convertable. My question is how do I find out what were actual options back in 68? thanks

If you got to this forum, you can use the internet for all your questions.
There is also a book printed in 1978 called "Mustang Does It" and it has everything

Hey, gizahuna: Try this site: http://www.mustangdecoder.com/
For a fee you can find out the complete history of your particular car. All you need is your VIN, or better yet, the dataplate from your door.
